Hi, I’m Cody—a father to two beautiful young girls, a soon-to-be collector, and a creative explorer. I’ve always loved hobbies that spark imagination and creativity, and now I get to share that passion with my daughter.
Through Beyond Binders, I hope to inspire other parents, collectors, and creators to find joy in the little things and build lasting memories.
My Parenting Philosophy
Before becoming a parent, I never understood why some parents impose their own personal beliefs or unfulfilled ambitions onto their children. Whether it’s a dream they couldn’t achieve or a family expectation—like following a certain career path—it often comes with the weight of expectations and the fear of disappointment.
I’ve always believed that parenting should be more about guiding, not dictating. My role as a father is to help my children discover what they love, support them in their journey, and be there when they need me.
Why I Started Beyond the Binder
This project is about more than just card collecting—it’s about helping my daughter build confidence, explore her creativity, and embrace who she truly is. Through collecting, creating, filming/content creation and storytelling, I want to encourage her (and others) to follow their own passions, without fear of judgment.

The YouTube channel will be purely my daughter’s project—I’ll be behind the scenes, helping with filming, editing, and monitoring the content to ensure a fun and safe experience. Any Money earned from the videos that she makes will go into funding anything needed for more videos in the future such as cards or any supplies needed for video content. Anything that is left over will go into a savings account that she will be able to access when she turns 18.
The Blog will be a behind-the-scenes look at our journey—documenting what it took to create the content, including: The writing, filming, and research that goes into each video, Insights on trading cards and other topics featured on the channel, along with the tools and resources we use (or buy) along the way—a helpful guide for others who want to start something similar.
